Tutorial: Ribbon Tree And Wreath

Hello, ribbon lovers! The holidays are here – and it’s time to decorate! Don’t you just love the smells of evergreen, baked goods, and chestnuts roasting over an open fire?

Today’s project shows you how to make a beautiful tree out of ribbon – and the only supplies you need are ribbon, a Styrofoam cone, and pins! Easy!

The tree can be whatever size you’d like it to be; this one stands 16” tall and requires 10 yards of the 1.5” ribbon, including the topper. (Thinner ribbon will require more length.)

And here’s a wreath made with the same looping technique, and a different way to handle the inside of the wreath. This wreath is a 12” Styrofoam form and required 10 yards also.

Thanks for stopping by – leave me a comment and let me know…what’s your favorite holiday decoration to make – trees or wreaths? Or something else?

Happy Holidays!

These are both so elegant with that gorgeous ribbon.  You are so creative to come up with this, and we all thank you for sharing it with everyone on video.

That was some beautiful ribbon to make that  project just pop! It is hard to get  spools let alone find all the good stuff we see ( sigh).

Love the wreath and tree, Sandy!  But I really like the pepermints that you created out of the twisted rope, they're perfect on your projects. Thanks for the peak at your ribbon storage.
