Nautical Craft Challenge Inspiration: Nautical Banner
Last week, we announced our Nautical Craft Challenge! We will be providing 20 participants with a selection of these ribbons:
to create a craft project with! So, all week long a different Ribbonista will be creating an inspiration project. Today we have Royal Ribbonista, Jen Shears, with this Nautical Banner!

Jen here with my inspiration for the Nautical Challenge! When the Ribbon Lady told us the theme of this challenge I was so excited- ideas started swimming through my head! And the ribbon she chose all works SO well!
So, I decided to do a nautical banner. I pulled out the very cool DCWV adhesive fabric stack. It’s 6″x6”, so I kept that as my top width & used my paper trimmer to cut the bottom narrower. I freehand cut the notch on the bottom. (I left the adhesive backing on).
I used Scor Tape to secure the ribbon (red/white stripe 365-2-14 and the navy grosgrain/satin edge 376-1-03) to the panel.
I used quick dry tacky glue to secure the ribbon at the top & bottom of the pennant, as well as attach the gold metallic chain/cord (348-14-30).
I used some washi tape on one end to thread the natural burlap cord (sp10) through the holes, tying a simple knot between each panel. My Crop-a-dile was ideal for punching the holes!
The letters were cut with my cricut using DCWV glitter paper. Yum!
There you have it! This is going to be such a fun challenge- I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!
