DIY Ribbon Dragonfly
I grabbed up a really cheap potted silk flower a few weeks ago. Of course the intent was to alter it in some way. I stared at it over these few weeks even leaving it in my car when we moved so I wouldn’t forget about it. One day I was inspired to make my own style of dragonfly with ribbon wings and Eureka! That’s what the flower pot needed!!! So I dove in. Creativity can’t be forced….you have to wait for inspiration.
Ok, this is so easy I couldn’t even do a step out tutorial. I took a die from Memory Box, called Meadow Dragonfly. Cut the body only and not the wings. Then I used May Arts 1/8” sheer ribbon and tied a bow. Cut the bow at fold, trimmed one side shorter and trimmed the edges so they were oval. I added 1 3/8” Adhesive Mini Gingham Heart.
To dress up the flowers I clipped the centers and added the same hearts to each one. Then added a little glitter glue to the edges of the petals.
The flower pot was wrapped in 2.5” Cotton Blend Vintage Inspired Print with 1.5” wrinkle ribbon.
I am sure you will be seeing this piece in many of my photos as a prop.
