Home Decor: Button Heart Pillow

Isn’t this a fun pillow? I’ll show you how simple it is to create with supplies many of you have on hand!

First, grab your supplies! I’ve used some linen-type utility fabric, a bunch of red buttons, my Helmar Premium Craft Glue, and the amazingly useful burlap string.

I cut the fabric about 8×11, and then laid my buttons out in a heart shape. The Helmar adhesive was perfect for applying a small amount to the back of the buttons to hold them in place.

Once they were set (I only waited a short time!), I used my burlap string to sew them in place.

I chose one button to have a bow tied on the front.

My original plan was to frame this- and here’s how that looks:

Pretty cute, but I decided a little pillow would be fun! I cut another piece of fabric, pinned it & machine stitched. Here you can see the back of the stitches.

I turned it right side out, stuffed & sewed it shut.  Simple!

This would be just as cute with a heart outline, don’t you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you’ve been inspired!

Very cute project.  Brilliant to glue them and then sew them on.  I can see me struggling to try and keep them in place while I sew.  LOL.  This could be very cute on a layout too.  TFS!
