DIY Card And Gift Set
Every once in a while, I like to send the little girl in my life a reminder that I’m thinking of her since we live so far away . She’s a girly girl who also loves to play field hockey, so I thought a gift to keep those flyaway strands of hair at bay would be perfect.
Since blue jeans are an important part of every girl’s wardrobe, I absolutely love that May Arts has added a fabulous new denim ribbon to their vast ribbon offerings. I’m going to show you how easy it is to create a card and gift in one with May Arts Ribbon, Imaginisce and Authentique.
I used the i-magicut to cut and seal a square of May Arts Denim large enough to cover an Imaginisce Medium Snap Daddie button. I rounded the edges of my ribbon square slightly so that the ends would fit into the Snap Daddie button easily.
Then I just followed the easy instructions that came with the I-top tool to create the buttons. I snapped the buttons onto the Imaginisce Snap Bobby Pins and done!
I created a tag for the Snap Bobbie Pins then used a piercing tool to determine placement for my Bobby pins. I then used the small end of a Crop-a-dile tool to punch the holes so the Bobbie pins can slip easily on and off the card. I purposely frayed the ribbon edges for texture.
Now, how to attach the tag to the card so the card isn’t destroyed? Self-adhesive magnetic strips! Easy on, Easy off
Authentique’s “Strong” paper line matches May Arts Denim perfectly so it’s a natural with the ribbon. It’s primarily a masculine line but with a few scalloped edges, some May Arts 5/8” denim (flipped to the wrong side for contrast) and a girly sentiment, my girly girl has a gift she can wear and a keepsake card for storing her pretty denim hair pins.
Thanks for joining us on the May Arts blog! We hope we’ve inspired you.
