Welcome back to the May Arts Blog and the Ribbon Lady’s “All That Glitters!” Challenge. May Arts Ribbon has many beautiful sparkly ribbons to add glitz and glamour to your holidays without breaking your budget.
Look at these gorgeous ribbons the Ribbon Lady chose for the challenge:
I love the sparkle, shimmer and shine!
One of my favorite ways to save money on gift wrap is to use… are you ready? Freezer paper! It’s economical, strong and comes in 150 foot rolls so you can wrap dozens of gifts. You can choose to use the shiny side or the dull side.
Additionally, the plain paper allows the ribbons to take center stage. I chose to use the dull side and simply wrapped 3 of the ribbons around around my package, weaving them in and out where they crossed one another.
I created my golden poinsettia by cutting 2 inch strips of Gold Crochet (HP30) ribbon into a point and attaching them to form a circle using Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive. I added another layer of pointed petals then spiraled the SJ15 Green Metallic String in the center. A dab of Helmar 450 holds it in place. I created the red sparkly center by rolling a piece of the Red Metallic Velvet (377-38-14) into a circle before attaching it with more Helmar Adhesive.
The beautiful stars and the embossed tag from Little Yellow Bicycle’s Once Upon a Christmas line add more sparkle and shine.
You can find some other fun ideas using freezer and plain Kraft paper for wrapping here on the May Arts blog.
Be sure to check the May Arts blog often for more sparkly inspiration!
