Make Your Own Crochet Basket
Adding earthy accents is a big trend in crafting and home decor. Using basic crocheting techniques and fabulous May Arts string, it’s easy to achieve this style. Take a looks at this basket.
This basket was made using double crochet stiches and working in rounds. You can alter the look of the basket by increasing or decreasing the number of rows (or rounds) you make. Start with the bottom and chain 2 then slip stitch to join. Stitch 12 double crochets into middle and slip stitch to join. Increase the stitching for each round. Keep making rounds and increasing until you come to a size of basket you are happy with. For the sides you will double crochet stitch the same number of rounds. For example: If the last round of the bottom is 25 stitches then you will add 26 stitches all the way up the side. Keep stitching until you reach a height you’re happy with. Join and tie off end and that’s it.
You can also a little string to the top to dress it up like I did here.
I LOVE the natural look of this basket. It is currently sitting on my craft desk holding pens where I can admire it every day.
