DIY Crochet Ribbon Elastic Hair Ties
Today’s project was created out of need (um, maybe we should make that a “want”). 🙂
I wanted some cute ponytail holders, not the plain colors available in the store. I’m past the age where bows on my ponytails are cute so I needed another option. Light bulb moment! Why not crochet pretty ribbons right onto the elastic hair ties.
It’s so quick and easy that you can make dozens in no time at all.. Here’s a sample of what I created in about 15 minutes.
These would make great little gifts in school colors and you can leave the tails or cut them off. May Arts Ribbon has so many pretty colors and textures, you can match every outfit! I chose just a few to get started.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- May Arts Ribbon in 1/8” -1/4” widths
- Crochet Hook size K
- Stretchy pony tail holders
I used a single crochet stitch. If you’ve never crocheted, you can easily do this! You can find super simple video and pictorial instructions here. It’s easy and fun!
I omitted the beginning chain as I used the pony tail holder in place of it.
That’s it! You can find a PDF tutorial here.
Thanks for joining us! We can’t wait to see your pretty ponytails!
