Fun DIY: Decorative Candy Jar
A great thing about being crafty, is that you can take something very plain, and dress it up to something suitable for a boutique, quite easily and inexpensively. This acrylic candy jar started out completely bare, and with the addition of a little paint, flowers and ribbon, now it’s a one of a kind home décor piece.
Use a stencil, and paint a decorative, repetitive design on the container. After the paint is dry, use double sided tape to adhere the faux burlap ribbon around the bottom. Take another length of ribbon and tie a bow and attach with the liquid adhesive. Glue a flower to the center of the bow.
Paint the knob of the canister with matching paint. Use the liquid adhesive to glue flowers over the lid.
