Spring Craft: Faux Decorative Bows
“When you see flowers, your day is brightened. It’s like sunshine!” – Marinus Koole
When a very valued, fellow employee was leaving our department, the girls and I chipped in to give her a flower arrangement that she could enjoy all year. I dressed the annual/perennial flower arrangement with a large decorative bow. I didn’t have much time decorate the planter, so I created a faux bow with the beautiful May Arts Sheer Spring Floral Print Ribbon in 1.5”.
To create the faux bow, I wrapped the container with the pink Sheer Floral Print Ribbon, leaving enough ribbon for approximately 10 inch tails. Before tying the knot, I added a length of 8 inch ribbon to the center and secured the knot.
I looped two of the four “tails” and curled/scrunched the remaining two with my fingers to create the illusion of a full bow and. The best part?-I did this without any special tools and very little time. This line of ribbon has thin wire that made making the faux bow so easy!
In addition to the bow on the container, I also jazzed up the gift card holder using the same technique. I did not want this bow as large, so I simply cut the ribbons shorter. There are many colors available in the Sheer Spring Floral Print Ribbon and will coordinate with just about any color of flowers!
