DIY Gourmet Gift Basket For Less
One of our favorite beginning of summer road trips is going to pick blackberries, and then freezing them for use in a variety of sweet treats throughout the year. One easy and oh so good way to use almost any berry to is make your own fruit syrup for pouring over everything from pancakes to ice cream. Sweet treats are meant to be shared and May Arts ribbon can help you take this simple treat and turn it into a gift anyone will welcome.
A bottle of homemade Blackberry Syrup simply tied with May Arts crochet lace and leaves in burgundy and celery green take your simple gift and turn it into gourmet store quality. I hand-stamped a matching label tied it on with burlap string then added a sweet little paper doily to finish off the look.
Why not take your gift one more step and add a matching basket and some blackberry treats to go with the syrup?
I found this little basket at my local thrift store for 99 cents! I love the metal work on the handle and sides. A quick dip in tea gave it a beautiful warm color. I threaded the crochet lace ribbon through the basket openings then tied and wrapped additional crochet lace ribbon around the handle.
To make the gift even more appealing, I added a couple of Blackberry Lemon Bars to drizzle some of the yummy syrup over.
Now that’s a gift that’s sure to earn you a warm welcome anytime!
I’ve included the recipe for the Blackberry Syrup and Blackberry Lemon Bars in case you want to share some May Arts dressed treats with someone special.
Thanks for stopping by! We love your comments.
