DIY: Owl Kindle Case With Your Child’s Artwork

Hi there May Arts fans this is Jenifer here with you today to share how you can incorporate ribbon into some of your sewing projects.  My daughter drew this really cute owl when we were waiting for one of her brothers to finish up at a wrestling tournament.  It was just too cute to not use it for something else so we decided to appliqué it on the cover of her kindle case so she can see it every day.

We used one of the new laces on the spine just for added fun and texture.  A couple loops of silk for the little tufts on the ears and some hand sewn leaves on the branches.

Here is the back, the lace is so pretty.  I also sewed a length of the elastic string from top to bottom to help keep the case closed up.

On the inside I made a pocket that had to be dressed up with some crochet lace and velvet.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my project today, I hope I have inspired you to use ribbons in your sewing projects, now break out some of your kids amazing pieces of art and create something beautiful.  They will love it!
