DIY Mother’s Day Gift Set

All moms deserve a little love on Mother’s Day and I’ve got a few projects to help inspire you.

To start with I wanted to give the special mom a coupon holder, because really, we all need a little TLC.

To make this fun little holder, start with a glassine bag and emboss the bottom half of it. Next, cut out one of the Authentique tags and cut 4 small sections of faux canvas ribbon. Fold the ribbon pieces in half and adhere them to the back of the label. Next cut a longer piece of faux canvas (I went all the way around the bag, so depending on the size of your bag, measure accordingly). Cut a piece of satin pleats to be the same size and adhere both pieces of ribbon to the bag. Add the tag with ribbon accents and presto. To give the coupon inside a bit of a special touch I die cut it out, to give the edge a bit more detail.

Next up, I wanted to make a coordinating card.

Start by fussy cutting out some of the Authentique patterned paper flowers. Next take a piece of Coredinations card stock and emboss, then sand down the texture. Next take a 4.5″ piece of the satin pleats and two pieces of faux canvas and a 10″ piece of burlap string. Once you’ve got all your ribbon pieces cut adhere them to the bottom of the card and tuck the ends in behind the cardstock. Add the flowers and round the corners. I added a layer of distress ink and trimed the card to size, rounding each corner. For the inside I stamped a Gourmet Stamps sentiment.
