Nautical Craft Challenge Inspiration: Nautical Jar
Last week, we announced our Nautical Craft Challenge! We will be providing 20 participants with a selection of these ribbons:
to create a craft project with! So, all week long a different Ribbonista will be creating an inspiration project. Today we have Royal Ribbonista, Candy Rosenberg, with this Altered Nautical Jar.
If you are interested in participating, go ahead & email me!!
I have this great burgundy glass bottle that we recently emptied and I could not possibly throw it out. My daughter and I were doing some spring cleaning and kept finding change all over the house, so I checked to see if a quarter would fit in the opening….and it did so we have a change jar! Now to gussy it up…nautical style!
First clean the inside and outside of the jar and let air dry.
Using Scor Tape, wrap around the jar one piece at a time working your way up as you go, this will make a great adhesive base for the jute to wrap it around.
Starting wrapping the jar approximately 2″ from the bottom, wrap the jute around the bottle keeping each layer close to each other. Continue a total of 6″.
Using the ribbon you will start to wrap and layer them around the jute. Use the Scor Tape to attach the edges together.
Such an easy way to transform a simple bottle and add a beautiful nautical theme to enhance your home decor.
