Hi everyone! This is Chrissy with a cool way to transform an old craft or photo box into something new, hip, and unique. All you need is some Mod Podge, awesome paper, some ribbon, and a clear tape with a cool pattern. I used old book paper, May Arts Ribbon, and the really hip “Numbers” clear tape from Vintage Street Market.
It really is almost impossible to make a mistake when all you do is tear paper then glue it to the box. I applied little bits of paper until my whole box was covered. I used a Vintage Street Market tag for the label insert and lined the edge of the lid with that awesome grass green May Arts ribbon.
As a finishing touch, I added some visual interest and contrast with my “Numbers” tape. I applied the tape around all edges and seams.
The finishing touch was adding a piece of the buttons paper from Vintage Street Market to the inside panel of my box.
Thanks for taking a look! I hope you all try a little upcycling too.
Supplies:
- Ribbon: May Arts (FNN15 Green Twill 1.5”)
- Paper: Vintage Street Market, Gauche Alchemy
- Tape: Vintage Street Market
- Adhesive: Mod Podge

What a beautiful and fun box! I need to do this for my craft storage.
What a cute idea!
I so love covered boxes! And this is a make-over I would love to see in my scraproom, where 20 of these boxes currently reside, all in their original mix-matched coverings! You have given me a project here today!
Very cool way to decorate a box!
Sweet collage project! This is something I am going to do with my grandson and we'll make him a treasure box out of his old coloring book pages and old reading books. LOVE this idea!
Great idea! Thanks for sharing it with us. 😀
This is a great thing to do with kids. Destructo boys can tear the paper and girls can choose paper placement. 🙂 Love all the buttons accents.
