Winter DIY House Decor: Snow People
When it’s too cold to go outside to make snowmen or if you live in a sub-tropical area like we do where there’s never any snow, these quick projects will fill the bill.
First up: Candy Bar Snow People! These are great to have on hand for visitors who pop in with unexpected gifts after Christmas or for teachers and neighbors. My ribbon scrap basket was overflowing and these projects were a great way to use up those bits and pieces that are too small for other projects.
Aren’t these just the cutest?! Each one is made with a full size Hershey bar. The candy bar cover is by Laurie Furnell. I chose to make the hats white so that I could make use of more of my May Arts Ribbon scraps. A video to make the hats is available here.
Next up is the Snow Family. The house always seems so bare once the Christmas decorations come down. These little guys are sure to brighten up any spot in your home. The best part is that they’re super economical and easy to make. School age children can help and even little ones can help fill the socks with rice.
Here are the easy instructions. I bought a 6 pack of socks which will make 12 snow people so there are some to share!
