DIY Spring Project Idea – Burlap Carrots
I’ve got a fun spring project for you today!
How cute are these carrots? 🙂
I used a manila folder & traced a party hat for my cone shape.
Scor-tape was used to secure the cone to the shape I wanted, as well as to line the outside for keeping my orange burlap cording in place. I used several pieces on the length as well as around the top. I kept a long piece of the orange twisted burlap free at the top then wound it around the cone to the base. Once at the bottom I secured with hot glue. I created a twisted ‘root’ by applying a small amount of Helmar’s fabric stiffener.
For the carrot tops I bunched up a napkin and wrapped olive burlap cording & olive mini pom pom ribbons around it. I used hot glue to secure it to the inside of the cone then wrapped the reserved orange twisted burlap around the top (securing with hot glue) to finish.
I tied my ‘bunch’ together with 3/8” natural crochet & hung it up!
So fun- these will stay up on my wall all spring; they’d also be cute on a front door!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you’ve been inspired!
