How To Make An Upcycled Valentine’s Day Heart
Hi, Pam Bray here from Scrapbook flair today on the the May Arts Ribbon Blog! I recently found a chipboard heart at the dollar store and thought I could upcycle it using some pretty pattern paper and fabulous May Arts Ribbon.
STEP 1: I began by tracing the heart on to pattern paper; cutting it out with scissors. Adhere it to the top of the chipboard cycle.
STEP 2: Lay pattern papers, border strips, journal image and doily to decide placement on heart. Once happy with placement glue the pieces down and trim around the scallop edge of heart. Sand edges of heart.
STEP 3: To create Drawn Hearts Print Bow … make small loop around round thumb, twist add graduating loops to each side of center loop but twisting under center loop. (I generally do odd loops on each side of center loop.)
STEP 4: Once the loops are formed; place a small piece of floral wire through the center loop.
STEP 5: Twist wire to secure all of the loops together.
STEP 6: Fluff bow loops out. Adhere to top of prepared heart.
STEP 7: Repeat with May Arts Variegated Blue/Ivory Ribbon. Adhere around Drawn Heart Print Bow that was placed to the front of prepared heart.
STEP 8: Adhere “Love” sentiment to pattern paper. Using Xacto Knife to trim paper from around prepared sentiment. Sand edges of sentiment.
STEP 9: Adhere to front of prepared heart.
STEP 10: Add key lock to heart.
STEP 11: Place journal sentiment on pop dots; adhere key to sentiment.
