Handmade Craft: Baby Sleeping Sign
I’ve got a door hanger to share using the Basically Bare products! They were so much fun to work with!
I started out using one of the corrugated pieces from the Oh so mini albums & covered it with paper from DCWV (the Mi Casa stack). While that was drying, I got to work on altering some of the Basically Bare Embellies from the Bare Basics Celestial Shapes pack.
I embossed an acrylic star with a wood grain embossing plate, and then added some platinum stickles. As I was working I decided it needed mustard acrylic paint too. 🙂 I topped it with some turquoise Baker’s twine that matched the patterned paper.
The smallest star I was able to cover with the 1.5” grosgrain/ivory stripe in butterscotch. I trimmed it as close to the star as possible and then CAREFULLY used a flame to seal the edges around the edge of the star. I topped this star with the same Baker’s twine.
I used the cloud from the celestial shapes & stitched it with Baker’s twine. I first used a small hole punch to make the holes so that I would be able to get the twine through. The moon I covered with several pieces of yellow woven burlap.
I used the 1.5” grosgrain/ivory stripe as the hanger. I simply pulled it through the hole, tied a knot & pulled the raw end back through the hole. I secured the top & bottom with adhesive.
Some Fancy Pants alpha stickers were used to spell out ‘Baby Sleeping’- and hopefully keep the doorbell from ringing during naptime!
Thank you to Basically Bare for such fun products to work with! And thank you for your time! I hope you’ve been inspired!
