How To Dress Up Dollar Store Tote Bags
I’m always looking for easy ways to promote my blog Fynes Designs, so when I attended a recent event I thought I’d take along a little swag. What better way to take along swag then in a fun bag?!
I found some basic bags at the dollar store and with the help of May Arts ribbon I made them a little flashy with some sweet banners, and flowers. I added ¾” chevron ribbon to the existing handles.
The buntings I cut simple triangles from fabric and sewed them directly to the bag and used ric-rac, and burlap cording to ‘hang’ from. Aren’t they fun, the ribbons really brought a plain bag to life!
The last bag was a much easier design, but by simply adding a few frayed flowers and a seafoam linen bow it made the basic bag a cute trendy one!
I hope this makes you look at your basic handbags; maybe you can uplift a plain bag too!
