How To: Elegant Thrifty Gift Wrapping

The May Arts Design Team is hitching a ride with Little Yellow Bicycle to bring you a fun and inspirational week of projects.  We have several near Christmas birthdays in our friends and family circle so we often give combination presents since they’re all adults.

I wanted a wrap that hinted of the Christmas season but also had a bit of feminine vintage charm.  One of my favorite wrapping papers in addition to freezer paper is plain brown Kraft paper.  It’s inexpensive and can be dressed up or down to suit the occasion.

May Arts Wired Burlap Striped Edge Ribbon, Faux Suede Leaves and Little Yellow Bicycle Fresh Verse Cardstock Stickers made wrapping this gift a quick and easy project.  I purposely frayed the ribbon ends to add a bit more charm. A spritz of Glimmer Mist added some holiday sparkle to the paper flower in the center.

Thanks for joining us on the May Arts blog.  Be sure to check back often to see what the May Arts Team has designed for you then pop over to the Little Yellow Bicycle blog for even more creative ideas.

This gift is almost too pretty to open.  The burlap ribbon pairs beautifully with the kraft wrapping paper.

I used to wrap using the curling ribbon and now am a believer in using real ribbon.  This burlap ribbon is fabulous!  I am all about making the presentation as great as the gift inside!

You really don't need wrapping paper, you just need ribbon….plus you can keep it to use on other stuff after you unwrap!
