Mother’s Day Card & Layout
I was quite giddy when I received the Authentique ‘Gathering’ collection to work with! It is stunning! For my first project I’ve made a Mother’s Day card:
Using the pretty ‘Grow’ paper as my focal panel, I wrapped it with May Arts 3/8” grosgrain/ivory stripe & 3/8” lace.
I added the ‘icon’ with the bird’s nest- don’t those nesting birds say ‘Mother’?
Next up I did a layout of one of my favorite pictures of my daughter & I!
I started with the ‘flourish’ paper as my base, which I absolutely love! I used my cricut to cut the “M” for mommy & used the May Arts woven burlap ribbon under the negative of it for a fun twist. I used the Authentique ‘classic type’ letters for the rest of ‘Mommy’.
I used the ‘headlines’ die cut, adding ivory crochet & more of the orange woven burlap ribbon.
I then used a border punch on the ‘reminisce’ paper so that I could thread it with May Arts 1/2” solid/wrinkle ribbon. I tied burlap string between each space- such a fun look! There is a loop of the new wider cotton stripes at the top of the photo, as well as one of the ‘noteables’ stitched in place. More of the bittersweet burlap sting wrapped several times around the whole page.
In case you can’t read the journaling, my daughter is looking at a ladybug on my hand! 🙂
Thank you to Authentique for such beautiful products to create with! And thank you for your time! I hope you’ve been inspired!
