May Arts Ribbon is proud to support our nation’s deployed heroes through Operation Write Home®! This organization has sent over 2 million cards overseas so our service members can keep in touch with their loved ones while they’re away. And we are participating in the Spring Training Blog Hop this weekend! Please check out the projects we’re sharing – and take some time to visit OWH’s blogs and all the others participating, starting at the top of the hop. You’ll be inspired!

Here’s the line up, just in case you missed one:

Giveaway!

May Arts Ribbon Rack

We also have a giveaway for you today!  All you have to do to win your choice of 3 spools of May Arts Ribbon is comment on this post!   I will announce a winner right here on Wednesday, April 10th!

Now….on to some card fun with Royal Ribbonista Jen Shears:

I’m so excited to be participating in the Operation Write Home Spring Training Hop! We love baseball, but I thought I would go with another thing that we think of in spring: boating!

Father's Day Card

I’ve used an older stamp set for the boat image, stamping it directly on the red card base, as well as on white cardstock to paper piece. The sentiment is stamped below with the same ink. One of the sails is attached directly to the cardstock, while the other is popped up with dimensional adhesive.

Father's Day Card

I REALLY love the ribbon treatment! I’ve used some of the new 1.5” red, white & blue grosgrain stripe (perfect, right?!) on one side. I wrapped red, ivory & blue burlap string several times around the grosgrain before tying it off in a simple knot.

Father's Day Card

I used a simple trick to attach the ribbon- a quick stitch with the sewing machine! It doesn’t matter what color it is, since you’ll wrap another layer of ribbon on top! I used a fast drying adhesive to glue down the top layer. This is a 4.25 x 5.5” card base, with just one end run embossed with a folder.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you’re inspired to make some masculine cards for OWH!
