How To Make Ribbon Cupcake Cards
Take any 1.5″ or 2″ (or larger) grosgrain ribbon, some small dies and you can create your own unique applique-style party invitations, cards or tags!
I experimented a couple of ways to best do this without allowing too much fraying of the ribbon. If you have a Xyron Sticker Maker, slide a length of ribbon through, peel off the top film and then place the ribbon (with the backing) with the die onto your die-cutting machine. I rolled mine through several times. It may be necessary to use a pair of micro-tip scissors to cut away some of the shape that doesn’t cut all of the way through.
Gently peel the ribbon die-cut from the sticker backing and adhere to the background paper. If you don’t have a Xyron Sticker Maker, follow the same steps above and then apply a fabric glue to the back of the ribbon die-cut.
If you want more dimension to your applique, you can also cut a piece of felt with the same die and then mount the die-cut ribbon piece to the top!
