Make Your Own Rustic Star Garland

Hi!  Jingle here, and I have a project that I’m really excited about to share with you today!  Garlands, buntings, banners…they are all the rage right now and the coming together of Core’dinations and May Arts gave me a fabulous idea for the upcoming Patriotic holidays like Memorial Day and Independence Day!  If you don’t live in the US, I’m sure you can easily adapt the colors and symbols to do something fabulous for your special days!  This is a simple, rustic star garland perfect for display in any home!

Supplies:

To begin, cut star shapes (mine are 1 1/4) using a die cut machine or punch from two colors of the Vintage cardstock.  This cardstock is particularly great because it is pre-sanded!  You get that fabulous sanded look without all the work!  I LOVE that!  I cut thirty red stars and thirty blue stars.  They will be back to back, so cut twice as many as you want on your garland

Run the stars through a Xyron Sticker maker to make them adhesive on one side.  Using a Xyron is perfect for this because it coats the ENTIRE back of each star.

Loop one end of your burlap string and begin adhering stars, back to back over the string as shown.  Once you have adhered all of the stars, cut your burlap string, loop the other end to finish and hang your garland or add to a tablescape as decoration!

Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to leave your comments!
