to create a craft project with!  So, all week long a different Ribbonista will be creating an inspiration project.  Today we have Prima Ribbonista, Erin Thiem, with this Wine Label!

If you are interested in participating, go ahead & email me!!

Greetings, the new Inspirational Challenge has so many great ribbons, I felt like a kid in a candy store trying to decide which direction to go.  I decided to use the rustic feel of the burlap and the fun spring energy of the ribbons to make a wine label.

Wine Label - How To

To start the project I took an 11-inch piece of the 4″burlap and wrapped it all the way around the bottle of wine.

Wine Label - How To

To make a wine label start with a piece of kraft card stock and cut it to 3 ½ inches by 7 ½”.  Secondly cut out a circle towards the top, I opted for the Spellbinders scallop circle die, but a circle or oval die or punch works well too.  Next I scored the card stock below the circle, cut the bottom of the card stock with a decorate edge die.  I inked the Hero Arts tweed background in two inks and added it to the entire tag.

Wine Label - How To

Next up, I die cut out a flower, embossed it with Stampendous white embossing powder.   I die cut out a smaller tag and added the jumbo leaves and added a 2″ piece of faux canvas.

Wine Label - How To

To created the layered look I added a small piece of the mini cording and cut some more faux canvas with the Imaginisce I-magicut Ribbon Cutter to add to the top of the tag.  I used a 6″ piece of burlap string and tied it around the ribbon.  I added the flower to the mini tag and finished off the wine label by wrapping a piece of the ruched ruffle ribbon around the tag.

Spring Wine Label

Cheers!

Lovely idea!  Next time I give a bottle of wine to the hostess, I may just use this idea.  Lovely!
