St. Patrick’s Day Card & Weekend Giveaway! {winner!}

May Arts / Penny Black

Today, we have a very special guest on the May Arts Ribbon Blog with a bonus project using May Arts Ribbon & Penny Black Stamps.   Please help us welcome Valerie Gee!   First, here’s a little about Valerie:

Valerie Gee Head Shot

Hi!  My name is Valerie Gee, and I was born a crafter!  I’m so lucky to live in Colorado with my amazing husband and two beautiful little girls.  I love sharing my creativity with others, teaching, sharing ideas, and crafting whenever I can.

And her project:

St. Patrick's Day Card: Kiss Me!

I used the Penny Black stamp “Kisses”, and with a tiny modification to her necklace to make it look like a 4-leaf clover, turned her into a super cute St. Patrick’s Day image!  I also took old brads that didn’t match my project, and altered the brads with embossing powder to make them coordinate with my green theme.

Kiss me with Shamrock

I used four of these modified heart brads to create a 4-leaf clover accent for the dot on the “I” in the word “Kiss” from the Penny Black Kiss me stamp, “x x x.”  I added some green striped grosgrain ribbon to the back side of my image to create a ruffled boarder, put it all together, and I created a super cute St. Patrick’s Day card!  Now Kiss me!  I’m NOT Irish!  Ha!

Here’s a video tutorial for her card:

    I love this – especially the way you used four heart brads and formed them into a shamrock! I’ve looked everywhere for shamrock brads with no luck – now I’ve got it! Thanks for such a brilliant idea.

    I just love this card, the color of green is so bright and cheery and the girl is so adorable. She reminds me of my youngest Granddaughter who says to me “You Silly grandma”.

    This project is so cute…and I love the fact you used other products – the brads, and repositioned them for your project…made them look like a four leaf clover and did the embossing powder color change! Haven’t done that in years..nice to be reminded that we can use older products in a different way! Top of the morn, luck of the Irish to you! Thanks for sharing such a cute wee green project!
