Craft Ideas: Thrifty Gifting for Fall
Welcome back to the May Arts blog! Fall is in the air! Well, maybe not here in the sub-tropics, but we do remember the smell of sharp clean cold air, falling leaves and smoke billowing from the chimneys. Even though we don’t get to share the sights and smells, we do get to feast on all the wonderful flavors of fall.
May Arts Ribbons make your fall gifting easy, beautiful and thrifty. We’re going to show you how you turn a homemade caramel sauce (yes, there’s a recipe!) and an apple into a gift you’ll be proud to give to everyone on your fall gift list from teachers to hostess gifts. This would even make a great take home for your Thanksgiving guests.
You’ll want to begin by making the caramel. Don’t panic…you don’t need any special equipment and only about 20 minutes total time to make 2 luscious cups of this decadent sauce. (My husband offered to marry me again. :-))
While the caramel is cooling, wash and thoroughly dry your jars. I decorated the clear plastic cupcake base and jar lid using Scor-Tape and a few wonderful rows of May Arts Pom-Pom and Woven Burlap Ribbons.
All that’s left is to place a bit of excelsior in the base, spoon your caramel into the jars, top with a perfect apple and tie off the top with more May Arts Ribbon! I had some pretty glittered leaves in my stash so I added those, but you could add a gift tag or leave it plain.
That’s it. A beautiful thrifty gift thanks to May Arts Ribbon. Thanks for visiting with us today. Be sure to check back daily for more May Arts Ribbon inspired creations from our design team.
