How To: Valentine’s Day Emoji Favor Bags!
Hi everyone, Katie Smith of Punk Projects here! Today I am sharing with you this fun project for Valentines day! I created these Drawstring Favor Bags inspired by heart eye emojis just by using a bit of ribbon and felt!
To create your own, follow along with these steps:
Step one: Cut a piece of 4 Inch Single Faced Satin Biased Cut Ribbon and a piece of the ¾ Inch Grosgrain with Emoji Print Ribbon into 12″ pieces.
Step two: Stitch the heart eye emoji ribbon on top of the satin ribbon. I just used my sewing machine to stitch down both sides of the ribbon.
Step three: Hem the top and bottom (short ends!) of the ribbon by folding the edges to the back 3/4″ and stitching them down, as pictured below.
Step four: Fold the ribbon in half and stitch up the 2 sides, leaving the top open.
Step five: Flip right side out!
Step six: Use a safety pin to easily thread a piece of twine through the top hem.
You want to start on one side, go through and then once you hit the other side of the bag thread back through on the front side and end up where you started. Tie the twine ends in a knot.
Step seven: Cut out a 1″ heart from yellow felt and adhere on.
You can also swap out the heart eye emoji ribbon for a felt emoji! ?
Now all you have to do is fill them with candy and try not to eat it all before giving them out to your friends!
