Cute as a Button Gift Set {winner & a giveaway}

Welcome back to the May Arts blog!  We’ve got a fun week of Lawn Fawn/May Arts Ribbon creations for you so be sure to stop in every day to see what the Design Teams have created to inspire you.

The inspiration for my project came from this sweet Petite Paper Pack from the Bright Side Collection by Lawn Fawn.

We’re going to visit our grandchildren in a few weeks.  One of the hardest things about going to visit is leaving again.  We started the tradition of sneaking into their bedrooms on the morning we leave and hiding a small gift under their pillows.  Now, instead of tearful goodbyes, they can’t wait to see what surprises are waiting for them.

I created this little gift set for our granddaughter.   She has her own sewing machine and table in her mom’s craft room so they can spend crafty time together.   I used the papers featured on the cover, cut them into 1 inch strips, and then sewed them together to re-create the same pattern.  I made two pieces like this.  One was used for the card and the second was cut in ½ inch pieces, taped together and applied to the tin.

The stamps are from Lawn Fawn’s “Sew Lovely” set.  I love the bright colors paired with May Arts 3/8” Solid Woven Check ribbon.  She’s very “into” purple right now so I know she’ll love the color!  The buttons are tied with May Arts Ivory Burlap String.

I lined the inside of the tin with more of the Lawn Fawn papers, then I added a matching collection of buttons and 1 yard each of May Arts Ribbon that I think she’ll love.

I can’t wait for her phone call when she finds it.

    I love what you created for your grandaughter– especially the adorable sewing box.  My grandmother was very special to me and your tradition of leaving a goodbye present under her pillow reminds me so much of some of the special things that we shared.  Your grandaughter will remember the gift of your relationship most of all.  I said hello on Lawn Fawn's F.B. page.

  20. Dorina D says:

    Love the "tradition" you've established with leaving a gift under the pillow.  What a great idea and making a mini sewing box was so cool. The stamps were "sew" appropriate.  TFS
