DIY Framed Art – Love Tags

If you are anything like me you have a bunch of scraps of precious ribbon that you just can’t part with.  I decided to come up with something to use up those tiny scraps.

These tags are from Core’dinations and all ready to go.  I wanted it to be simple and delicate, and went with a pretty tone on tone format with a little silver metallic pop.  This could easily be for Valentine home dĂ©cor or for a girl’s room year round.

Instructions

L Tag-I used SK01, 368-15-17, PV35, 389-18-31, and 377-38-31.  I just ran a long running stitch along one side of the white silk and pulled it tight and knotted it and layered one of my ribbon flowers on top.  Layer some ribbons at the bottom and you are done.

O Tag– I used 389-18-17, 389-18-31, and 361-58-01.  I used some crape paper and did the same as the silk ribbon.  I used some Wow embossing powder in Opaque Pastel Pink with a Wow Brocade stamp then I just punched out 6 heart shapes.  I folded the hearts in half and glued them all together to create this 3d heart.

V Tag– I used 390-78-09, 393-25-17, 377-38-31 and FR17.  I cut around the flower on the ribbon and added it as an individual flower, glued a little heart off to one side and added leftover bits to the bottom.  I also added some bling to the lace, just for that little extra pop.

E Tag– I used 377-38-31 and 390-78-09.  Same technique with the crape paper and just a heart that I cut out from a doily glued over top.

I hope you have enjoyed my project and I have given you some hope for those little bits of scraps laying around.  I would love to see what you create leave me a link and I will go check it out.

Love your project.  I love ideas for using up some scraps.  I'm definately a scrap hoarder and need to use some of them up and something like this is perfect.  I could see this in really mini size on a card.  How cute would that be?!?!  Thanks!
