DIY Clothing Repair – Ribbon Style
My niece recently asked me if I could fix one of her favorite tops. One of the straps had started to disintegrate!
Don’t you hate it when that happens? Ribbon to the rescue! First we decided on a suitable replacement. We went with 5/8” crochet ribbon in light blue and backed it with ½” solid/wrinkle ribbon in periwinkle.
I actually sewed the ribbons together before I added them to the top. And because the top was lined I used some Helmars Fabric Stiffener to be able to get the ribbons where I needed them to go!
You can’t even tell it’s been repaired & I’m sure it will be back at the top of her list again!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you’ve been inspired! 🙂
