It is so fun when we get to see peeks of the new ribbons- but when we actually get them in our hot little hands… GASP!! I’ve used the new Vintage Printed Burlap & Burlap with a Lace Edge to give my camera strap an update!
I had made a fabric cover for my strap years ago- here you can see why I needed to update!
I started by measuring the 2 ribbons about 1” longer than I wanted them to be on my strap, pinning a hem on each end & pinning the Burlap lace edge in place on top of the Vintage Printed Burlap.
I machine stitched the Lace edge in place with a matching thread, and then sewed the hem with a bright pink. A little extra stitching was used for reinforcement.
I wanted the unfinished edge to show, and I didn’t want to sew the lace part down, so I pinned the lace up on both sides to give myself room to machine stitch next to it.
I came up with a little trick to thread the strap through! I used purple burlap string (the first spool I grabbed!) to secure it to a dowel & easily threaded it! So much easier than when I did it last time pushing it through with a wooden spoon!!
I’m absolutely thrilled with the result!
It was so fun to update my strap with such beautiful new ribbons!!! I hope you’ve been inspired! 🙂
