The season of giving is upon us! And some of the best gifts are ones we create ourselves – handmade cards, crafts and of course baked goods! But even the yummiest of holiday sweets can be made more beautiful with the right gift wrap. So, we decided this would be a perfect theme for another Ribbonista Group Post. Each participating Ribbonista created their own beautifully packaged baked good and are shown below.
First, the giveaway:
2 prizes of 1 spool each. That’s 2 chances to win! What you have to do: comment right here.
I will announce the winners right here on Monday December 15th.
Now, for those holiday sweets.
I absolutely love baking for the holidays and creating pretty packages to present the goodies is part of the fun. One thing our family likes to do is give visitors to our home a little surprise to take home with them. I think this lacy cookie pocket is perfect for one large or several small cookies or other treats.
Sometimes you just want to share a few cookies, rather than a whole plate. My treat holder turns a simple paper plate into the perfect and quick container for a few yummy treats. This one happened to hold some of the best cookies I’ve ever tasted – Buckeye Brownie Cookies (Made by my sister, not me). They were so rich, just a few would make a sweet treat for someone special. I decorated my plate with some of my favorite May Arts Christmas ribbons – Twill Chevron Stripe; Grosgrain Dots; and String Burlap Ribbon. I put the tag together, added a few jingle bells, and the goodies were ready.
I love to make a yummy harvest bread this time of year- and so easy to fancy it up with May Arts Ribbons! I’ve got the details of the ribbons I’ve used on my blog! 🙂
DCWV has these fun little boxes that I used for my Sweets. They are easy to fold together and partner them up with some flowers and some beautiful ribbons and you have yourself a beautiful box for all of your holiday treats.

A gift of sweets is not about quantity it’s about giving the gift of your time, love and a fabulous treat! Adding the flare of a piece of linen embellished with crochet trim and a velvet ribbon bow will make your home baked goodies and dollar store shaker feel like a gift from a boutique bakery.
Come on by and get the recipe for the delicious Cranberry Pumpkin Bread with White Chocolate Chunks.
I have a bit of a weakness for two things – sweets and puns! So when I can put the two together, I am in heaven! Today, I thought I would share a little holiday treat all dolled up with some vintage inspired ribbons – the 2.5″ Cotton Blend Vintage Inspired Holiday Snowflakes (468-25-14), 1″ Eyelet Trim (447-1-01), and the 3/8″ Velvet/Gold Dots Burgundy (456-38-25). I think these ribbons are perfect to give a rustic, but polished look to canned goods. I wrapped each in layers around two different typed of preserves – canned peaches and an all time favorite – peach rum sauce (amazing over top of vanilla ice cream). Together, they are perfect for wishing someone a very “peach-ful” holiday season! Having said that, they are so pretty, that I might just keep them on my kitchen counter for the holiday season.

I have used my Silhouette cameo to make these cute treat boxes. Holiday seems to be one time when I am using my cameo the most to make treat boxes. I have used the beautiful holiday selection of ribbons from our store and some pretty prima papers to make this. It is super easy to assemble and make perfect quick gifts. Happy holidays! 🙂
I chose to decorate a mason jar to hold my treats. A few silver and gold stars from the Metallic Star Banner Ribbon stitched onto the Green Burlap/Wired Ribbon, bordered with Natural Burlap/Woven Ribbon and my jar was ready to fill with the minty Oreo Cookie Balls I whipped up with the help of my baby girl. A simple tag (with the recipe written on the back) tied on with a bit of my favorite Natural String Burlap Ribbon and my treats were ready to go!

I have two interpretations, one for on your holiday table with chocolates. I used a vintage teacup and saucer to hold the chocolates and a simple tag design that could be used like a place card. The second is a loaf and loaf pan wrapped with a tea towel and finished with the perfect May Arts Ribbon. I attached the same tag design for this homemade gift.
