Tutorial For Baby Blanket
My sweet friend is having a baby GIRL! I’m very excited about this & wanted to make a blanket for her! My daughter has a blanket that is minkie fabric on one side & satin on the other that she still sleeps with! It isn’t a regular sized blanket- I think that’s why she has always loved it- when she was little it was easy for her to manage. It’s a little over 2’x3’. You could really make these any size!
Of course I needed to add ribbon! 😉
I cut my fabric to size and then decided that ½” pom pom string (462-01) would be a fun addition.
I pinned the pom pom string in place on the minkie fabric.
I pinned the satin layer (right sides together) on top, carefully pinning the base of the pom pom string.
I machine sewed the layers together, leaving an opening to turn the blanket inside out.
I pinned the layers together from the outside and then machine sewed around the entire blanket, closing the opening originally left for turning the blanket inside out. (I probably should’ve used more pins. Ha!!)
I love how it turned out! I think little fingers will love playing with those pom poms!
I tied it up with some 3/8” white double faced satin (HA01) & tucked in a little 1.5” pink tulle (471-15-17).
I hope she loves it! Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’ve been inspired! 🙂
