How To Make A Witches Hat
Hi everyone! It’s Karen from ScrappyCanuck Studios, and today I am sharing a little Halloween project I made for my little gals!
Given the number of Halloween themed-projects I have had on my craft (aka. kitchen) table lately, you would never guess that I am not really a Halloween person! But I have to admit that after doing a search on the May Arts website for “Halloween”, I’ve been a little obsessed. Now, I haven’t dressed up completely for Halloween for a few years, but given that I teach elementary school, I do like to accessorize for the season. And what better accessory than a…fascinator!
To create this little hat, I simply started with a black, felt base, and then used some of the fun new 1” Adhesive Flag Banner Ribbon in orange ( A486-1-28) to create a flower.
I then worked on creating three simple loops of the 1.5” Net Ribbon and then adding a bit more volume with some of the 3” Tulle in black. I just love these two ribbons together for Halloween – such great texture!
Finally, I was missing a little punch of color, and a little sparkle, so I added some on the Leaves ribbon in parrot green, and a few Halloween-themed sequins I had in my crafty stash. Last, but not least, I did attach it to a headband so it could stay on the littlest of heads!
When my older daughter saw me working on this project, she wanted to get her hands dirty too! Here’s her version using all the same products but in different colors.
Thanks for stopping by!
